World title prospect Ryan Garcia has been blaming 8-division champion Manny Pacquiao for the failed Dream Match between the two. In recent weeks, talks about Ryan Garcia getting a title shot against Pacquiao are going around the internet until Garcia recently confirmed that the supposed dream match is not going to happen.
“Manny came to offer me the fight,” Garcia said in an interview with TMZ. “Obviously, I would love to fight Manny Pacquiao, but that’s up to him. That’s up to him.” After knocking out Luke Campbell in 7 rounds last January, Ryan Garcia has expressed his desire to face the Filipino champion. He even said it was about time Pacquiao passed the torch to him.
Garcia also confessed that the fight was coming to fruition, and he felt so confident that he even posted it on his Instagram account. “A dream come true,” he said. “It is an honor to share the ring with (Pacquiao). I will always respect what you did in and out of the ring. Here is to the best man winning.”
For his part, Pacquiao was quoted as saying that he is considering Garcia as one of his options for his comeback fight. But as the news broke of the talks between Pacquiao and Terence Crawford, and what many people would consider to be a more compelling fight to see Manny up against than with a less experienced and much younger prospect in Garcia, that the Dream Match Garcia talks about is not going to happen as yet.
